David Shrimpton, Head of Equity Markets Development at the London Stock Exchange will discuss an exciting new joint venture between the London Stock Exchange and the Tokyo Stock Exchange to establish a new securities market in Japan in 2009.
He will be joined by Mr. Mitsuo Miwa, Chief Representative of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, London and will be followed by aquestion and answer session moderated by Scott Hopkins of the City Panel on Takeovers and Mergers and Co-Chairman of the BJLA. This new securities market in Tokyo, modelled on the LSE’s extremely successful Alternative Investment Market, represents a significant step in the development, de-regulation and internationalisation of Japan’s capital markets.

It will be the first securities exchange market in Japan where only professional investors can participate and also the first market there to permit admission and disclosure documents in the English language.

Drinks and canapés after the meeting are kindly being provided by the London Stock Exchange.
