People #9: Lee Lee, a Consummate Live Performer

To the average person, the name Lee Lee may not trigger much reaction, but in the same way that other Korean figures (like Ji-Sung Park in the Premier League and Yunjim Kim who plays Sun in the Lost TV series) carried their ability onto a global stage, anyone who appreciates music will recognise that Lee Lee is in a class of his own.
Lee Lee combines powerful vocals, with R&B rhythm, to deliver a unique sound, which ranges from rock-style ballads, to up-tempo dance tracks.
Not only does Lee Lee play his own instruments, compose and arrange his own music, and produce his own videos, he is also a consummate live performer who can choreograph his backing dancers, as well as dance alongside them.
Lee Lee studied music at an early age and after moving to the UK continued to hone his musical style by performing at small clubs in Soho before progressing to more industry-respected venues like the Astoria in London.
Lee Lee was the first Asian singer to perform a live gig at the ‘London Astoria’ and at the ‘Electric Ballroom’ in Camden.
He has also been the subject of a music documentary by major Korean Broadcasting Company YTN, as well as numerous newspaper articles.
A number of major UK producers like Allan Nglish and Annonymos (who have worked with stars such as the Sugarbabes, Michael Jackson and many other global artists), have worked with Lee Lee on tracks for his debut album, alongside upcoming talents such as Daniel Konteh.
Some of these tracks have already been played in London clubs and Lee Lee’s music has also received airplay on UK radio and on MTV.
Lee Lee has also had a four-track EP released on iTunes but this, along with all his other material has been removed to prepare for a big global media launch later in the year.
He is currently in the studio finishing off his debut album, which is due for completion in April, after which Lee Lee will be returning to Korea to sign one of the many recording deals he has already been offered.
