A Piano Recital by Ka Hyun Kim

Ka Hyun("Susanna") Kim was born in 1989 in South Korea. She started to play the piano at the age of 7, but learnt professionally whe the family moved to Prague when she was 8 years old. There she studied for three years, with Ivana Girsova and the Czech pianist Jan Simon, winning numerous prizes in international junior competitions, including 'Aamadeus' in 1998.

In January 2008, she performed Schumann's piano concerto with the Residentie Orchestra of the Hague, a Dutch orchestra founded in 1904 and now conducted by Neeme Jarvi. Ka Hyun has also particpated in many master classes with Elisabeth Eschwe, Igor Roma, David Kuijken, Galina Vraheva, Jacques Rouvier, Pascal Devoyon, and Victor Rosenbaum. She also had lessons with Ruth Nye, Christopher Elton, Carole Cerasi and James Johnstone, and David Dolan.

After She finished her studies at the Menuhin School, she has continued her studies at the Berlin University of the Arts from October 2008 onwards with Professor Pascal Devoyon.

About the Organisers
The British Korean Law Association ("BKLA") is the bilateral law association which exists to promote understanding and exchange of knowledge between British and Korean lawyers. It holds a programme of lectures, seminars and social events in London.

The Anglo-Korean Society ("AKS") is the cultural and educational organisation in the United Kingdom for Korea and organises a programme of academic, cultural and social events each year.
The net proceeds of ticket sales from this Recital will be divided between the fabric (building repairs) fund of St Vedast Church and the BKLA and the AKS (both of which are non-profit organisations).

Light refreshments will be available in the interval of the Recital.
