Recognising its commitment to “Excellence in Flight”, Korean Air, the flagship carrier of South Korea, has been honoured as The Best North Asian Airline at the 20th TTG Travel Awards 2009 in Bangkok.
“This award is a significant recognition and reflection of Korean Air’s consistent professionalism. With our aspiration to achieve “Excellence in Flight”, Korean Air spares no effort to ensure customers have an enjoyable journey,” Mr. Lee Soon Young, Managing VP, South East Asia & Oceania Regional Headquarters, said. “We are determined to achieve a reputation as a respected leader in the global airline community, among our travel agent partners as well as our passengers.”
Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, Korean Air aims to provide a world-class product and industry-leading service. Recent initiatives put in practice have included expanding the airline’s service network (by adding more routes to Japan and China, as well as extending codeshare ties with other airlines) and developing innovative services and facilities (such as the installation of next generation premium seats and serving Korean Air’s signature bibimbap dish as part of the inflight menu). In acknowledging this award recognition by industry players and customers, Korean Air committed to continuing its efforts to achieve excellence in order to fulfill customers’ high expectations.
TTG Asia, the most established travel trade newspaper in Asia, conducts this Travel Award annually in recognizing the luminaries of the travel industry since 1999, growing to 73 awards spanning across four categories. TTG Travel Awards winners are determined by votes cast by fellow travel trade professionals, including major industry players, hotels and resorts, airlines and airports, as well as TTG readers in the region.
The 20th TTG Travel Awards 2009 were announced today at an award presentation ceremony & Gala Dinner at the Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld. Korean Air was voted as the Best Airline in the North Asian region this year.
