Koshu Wine Tasting

Date: Tuesday, 12th January 2010 6.00pm to 8.30pm
Venue: Embassy of Japan,101 – 104 Piccadilly LondonW1J 7JT

Were you aware that Japan is a producer of fine wines?
The quality of Japanese wines and their popularity in Japan has improved markedly over recent years. One, made from a grape variety original to Japan and with a history of cultivation of around 1000 years, is the Koshu white wine.
Koshu wine has a pale straw colour and subtle aromas of citrus and white peach. It is light, fresh and delicate on the tongue, with a crisp acidity and relatively low alcohol content. Because of these characteristics, Koshu is ideally suited to Japanese dishes, in addition to all kinds of light and healthy cooking.
Fifteen wine producers have formed a group called Koshu of Japan (KOJ) in order to ensure the high quality of Koshu wine and to promote the product. This is the first of KOJ’s international events and members will have the chance to taste a selection of wines, discuss them with the producers and sample food from Sake no Hana selected to match the wine.

Places are strictly limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to attend, please email events@japansociety.org.uk.
Please bring your invitation and a form of photographic identification (passport, driving license etc) with you. Without these, entrance may be denied.
