Asiana Airlines Awarded the Best in-Flight Service by American Global Traveler


Asiana Airlines (President : Young-Doo Yoon), for fifth consecutive year, was awarded Best Onboard Service & Flight Attendants Award as well as Best Trans-Pacific Airline Award from American Global Traveler Magazine.
The awards are given to the airlines that scored best in the readers’ survey executed by Global Traveler Magazine. The survey conducted in the magazine, as an insert to subscriber copies and online. This year, Global Traveler conducted the survey from 1 January to 31 August 2008 for the best in many categories.

Asiana Airlines has excelled in the category of onboard service & flight attendants for years due to the innovative and unique in-flight service such as make-up service and onboard chef service along with the upgraded cabin facilities.

The Global Traveler awards ceremony will be held on 15 January 2009 at the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles.

Contribution to Society
Asiana Airlines is dedicated not only to serving our passengers, but also society with our strong emphasis on social responsibility. Asiana’s wide variety of volunteer activities is expanding overseas, beyond the national border.

Change for Good Campaign
Asiana Airlines joined UNICEF’s “Change for Good” campaign in 1994 and has collected over USD3.23million.

1 Company for 1 Village
As an enhanced way of social contribution, Asiana has established a relationship with a village in a rural area to help out its agricultural industry and clean up its environment. This activity is expanding overseas to other Asiana destinations. Asiana’s overseas branches provide services to local communities such as meals for homeless people in L.A. and visiting elderly people in Harbin, China.

Building Houses of Love
Asiana employees are building houses for low-income families with local communities in Vietnam.

Penny Collecting from Salary
Asiana employees donate the amount up to 999 KRW out of their salary.

Blood Donation
In collaboration with the Korean Red Cross, Asiana holds a blood bank donation every two years and volunteer to give blood to those in need.

Cherry Blossom Bazaar
In spring when Korea’s cherry blossom trees are in blossom, a charity bazaar is held for the sale of food and items donated by Asiana staff members. The proceeds of the bazaar are then donated to those in need.

Other activities
Asiana supports playground facilities at orphanages, offer regular door-to-door medical service for residents in underdeveloped regions, and provide regular service for social welfare facilities.
